The Grain-Free Un-Granola

Just the good stuff: Toasted coconut chips (tree nut), pecan pieces (tree nut), sliced almonds (tree nut), pumpkin seeds, white mulberries, banana chips (bananas, sugar) and cacao nibs. Even better is what we don’t have in it. No seed oils, no binding agents, no kidding. Want more? Visit MeganAndMoose.com

Megan & Moose Banana Cacao Crunch is a grain-free alternative to traditional granola.

It is a one-of-kind ungranola that is both nutritious and delicious.

Made with just the good stuff: toasted coconut chips, buttery pecans, crunchy almonds and pumpkin seeds, naturally sweet mulberries, banana chips with a whisper of sugar and rich cacao nibs.

No seed oils, no binding agents, no kidding.

Explainer on the granola

Granola not “Grainola”.

If you’re looking for cooked, sugar-laden, oil-bound clusters of oats with the odd seed thrown in, this ain’t it. You see, that would be called “processed food” and it’s just not our thing.

Created by a holistic nutritionist, we skip the grains, syrups, added sugars, and seed oils entirely. Instead, we keep it simple with raw ingredients that include pecans, pumpkin seeds, cacao nibs, mulberries, and almonds. The only ingredient that isn’t raw are our coconut chips – they are simply lightly toasted to give them a golden satisfying naturally sweet crunch. And that’s it. There’s no high-heat baking that denatures the natural proteins, no sticky binders with strange names.

Each spoonful is simple food – nothing but plant-based protein, healthy fats and fiber that’s naturally sweet and label-reader appoved.

Intro to Meegan & Moose – “Our story”

Let’s start with our name, shall we? My name is Megan. Most people know how to pronounce that spelling of my name. Not my mother. Always with a flair for the dramatic, she made sure it was pronounced, “Me-gan”. Now you know where the spelling on the package comes from. Frankly, it’s a heck of lot easier than correcting everyone on the pronunciation and it does have a better ring to it when paired with my trusty little sidekick of a mutt, Moose. He was named by my daughter when she was nine. She was quick with the ironic wit, even then.

Now let’s start at the beginning….

I grew up loving Frosted Flakes. I’d even sprinkle extra sugar on top. What kid wouldn’t!? One day, perhaps out of guilt, my mom swapped the sugar bowl with a honey bear. I had no choice but to adapt to her boring, draconian ways. Okay, so not much of a healthy turn, but it was the first time and my earliest recollection of thinking about the food that went inside of me. Of course, as I got older, I started to realize that what we put in our bodies shapes how we feel, look and live. I was naturally curious about nutrition, eating well, thinking about where the foods we ate came from and how they were made. (The word “processed” hadn’t become the media villain it is today.) Well, as with most of us, life tends to take us down different paths from what might be our natural calling. My life was a family.

Fast-forward to an empty nest and with it some time for myself. My passion for food turned from feeding just my family with my healthy recipes to helping others eat better. Today, I’m a certified holistic nutritionist who has been helping people make smarter, healthier choices for themselves and their families. Now, I’m creating the healthiest versions of our favourite snacks and foods – the kind we think we have to give up. I’m starting with my Mulberry Marvelessness. Soon, I hope to be expanding the line to other flavours, snacks, foods and supplements.

Start small and dream Moose, as they say.
